Introduction to puzzle hunts
If you've never done a puzzle hunt before, the first two things to know are:
-
For each puzzle, you're looking to get a final answer, which is usually an English word or phrase. The puzzle is solved once you correctly identify the answer. You can check your answer at the Puzzles page.
-
You often get little to no instructions. Figuring out what to do with the data given is part of the experience.
The standard "comprehensive introduction to hunts for beginners" is https://blog.vero.site/post/puzzlehunts. If you just want an advertisement for why you should want to do puzzle hunts, you might see Evan's advertisement.
More importantly, for the OMEGA Hunt, if you're here in Denver and this is your first puzzle hunt, please visit Hunt HQ for hints or to chat as much as you need! We really want you to have fun rather than treating this as a competition or IQ test.
From all of us at OMEGA Space Academy, welcome aboard!
